Quickening

According to the baby book that I have been reading, quickening is the first fluttering movements you feel when the baby moves. I totally missed these flutterings and instead got a big kick one night! The saturday after our ultrasound appointment, Brad and I were watching the Olympics that night and all of a sudden, bam, one big kick. Since then, our little guy has become very active. At night, especially after eating dinner, he will be flipping and kicking all around. It is such a wild sensation to feel.

About a week after the "big kick," Brad put his hand on my belly to see if he could feel the kicks. The nurse said it would be several more weeks before he could, but not so with our active baby. Brad was able to feel the kicks - what a great night. Now feeling those kicks has become our favorite part of the day.
